| In the Midi-Pyrénées region, the Lot boasts
no fewer than 420 monuments and sites of interest; including 6 of
the most beautiful villages in France - Les Plus Beaux Villages de
France. Three of the most beautiful rivers in France - the Dordogne,
the Célé and the Lot itself - meander though this must-see département.
Less busy than its more famous neighbour, Dordogne, the Lot nevertheless,
can hold its own when it comes to natural beauty, bustling market
towns, picturesque villages. The beauty of the rolling countryside,
the golden stone of its towns and houses, its rivers, its famous
Quercy cuisine, Cahors wine and its people, will all conspire to
persuade you to stay in the Lot - to buy your French property here.

Roads to and through the Lot are excellent, with the A20 super-highway
passing through it on its way from Paris to Toulouse. The new east-west
mortorway, the A89 linking Clermont Ferrand and Lyons to Bordeaux,
skirts Lot at its north border with Correze and intersects the A20
at Brive. Paris trains stop at Souillac and St Denis de Martel.
Rodez airport with its cheap flights to the UK is one and a half
hours drive to the South of St Céré. The new airport
at Brive-Souillac, due to open in 2010 will be just 40 minutes drive
from St Céré and is expected to have a strong effect
on property prices.
