| In the Limousin
region, the Correze is a département of great contrast,
from the gentle rolling Dordogne Valley countryside in the south to
the high plateau of Millevaches in the north.
Even the French divide the Correze into 8 different regions, the better to
encapsulate the character of the ever changing countryside. These
subdivisions are: Vallée de La Dordogne and Pays
de Brive in the south; Vézère and Auvézère
to the west; the central region of Pays de Tulle; Monedieres
and the high plateau of the Millevaches to north and the
Gorges de la Dordogne in the east. There is a lot of pretty
spectacular and (for the most part) underdeveloped country out there
waiting to be discovered. And castles. If you like castles, you
will love the Correze!
To give you a flavour of the Southern Correze, we feature some
mini-gudies to some of the towns and villages near where we source
property, including three Plus Beaux Villages de France. Just
click on the images below in turn.
